Overview

Registered in 2006, *Hosta* 'Fudge Ripple' is a large, mound-forming cultivar of unknown parentage, derived from two unregistered seedlings. It is visually distinctive for its broadly ovate, moderately cupped and twisted leaves, which feature a green center streaked with creamy white and golden yellow, bordered by heavily rippled white margins.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms a substantial mound reaching 22 inches (55.9 cm) in height and 42 inches (106.7 cm) in diameter. It performs best in partial to full shade, as is typical for hostas, and its large, textured leaves make it an effective specimen or accent plant in shaded borders and woodland gardens. The heavily rippled leaf margins provide consistent textural interest throughout the growing season.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through appropriate cultural or physical controls.
