Overview

Registered in 2010 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Guacamole', 'Quesadilla' is a large, fast-growing cultivar distinguished by its blue-green leaves with white margins that display bright green to creamy white streaks and mottled areas. The foliage is ovate with rounded bases, moderately wavy and lightly corrugated, with flat margins, a slightly shiny upper surface, and a glaucous bloom underneath.

In the Garden

'Quesadilla' forms a mound-like clump reaching 22 inches (55.9 cm) in height and 45 inches (114.3 cm) in diameter, making it suitable as a specimen or mid-border accent in partial to full shade. Its bold, variegated foliage pairs well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials. The fast growth rate allows it to fill space quickly in woodland gardens or shaded beds.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Quesadilla' is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor regularly and take protective measures if these pests are present in the garden.
