Overview

Registered in 2014, 'Cosmic Patchwork' is a large hosta cultivar resulting from a cross between *H.* 'Fudge Ripple' and *H.* 'Geneva Remembrance'. It is visually distinctive for its blue-green leaves with white margins that are streaked with shades of green, yellow, and creamy white, combined with a very shiny upper surface and glaucous bloom beneath.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms a mound 16 inches (40.6 cm) tall and 27 inches (68.6 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, as is typical for hostas, and its substantial leaf size and variegation make it a strong specimen plant for shaded borders or woodland gardens. The green scapes, reaching 29 to 33 inches (73.7 to 83.8 cm) in height, carry flowers that complement the foliage.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with many hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through appropriate barriers or deterrents.
