Registered in 1971 by E. Minks, *Hosta* 'Wagon Wheels' is a sport of *Hosta* 'Golden Nugget' and forms a medium-sized clump. Its leaves are grey-green with chartreuse to gold margins, a color pattern that distinguishes it from its parent.

In the Garden

'Wagon Wheels' reaches 15 inches (38 cm) in both height and spread, making it suitable for mid-border positions or as a groundcover in partial to full shade. Its rounded, cupped leaves pair well with ferns, astilbes, or other shade-tolerant perennials. The plant’s compact habit also suits container cultivation.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor and manage as needed.
