Overview

Registered in 2003, 'Planetary Streaker' is a large hosta cultivar of unknown pollen parentage, with *Hosta* 'Foxy Doxy' as the pod parent. It is visually distinctive for its blue-green leaves with gold margins and unstable streaking in shades of medium green, blue-green, light green, greenish yellow, and pale yellow.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms an upright, moderate-growing clump reaching 26 inches (66.0 cm) in height and 24 inches (61.0 cm) in diameter. Its large, broadly ovate leaves with cordate bases, moderately wavy and corrugated texture, and good substance make it suitable for mid-border positions in partial to full shade. It pairs well with other bold-textured perennials such as ferns or astilbes, but its streaked foliage may be best appreciated as a specimen.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges. Typical hosta-growing zones apply; slug and deer damage may occur, though the leathery leaf texture offers some resistance.
