Hosta ‘Ghost Spirit’ is a registered cultivar () .

Year registered1999
Section classIV-7

Overview

Registered in 1999 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Valentine Lace', 'Ghost Spirit' is a small-sized cultivar distinguished by its blue-green leaves with white centers and medium blue-green margins. The leaf blade exhibits a green-streaked-white center, a glaucous bloom on both surfaces, and a cordate base, with seven to eight vein pairs.

In the Garden

'Ghost Spirit' forms a mound-like clump reaching 14 inches (35.6 cm) in height and 24 inches (61.0 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for blue-leaved hostas, and is suitable for small garden spaces, rock gardens, or the front of borders. Its compact size also makes it appropriate for container cultivation.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, particularly during dry periods. Fertilize in early spring as new growth emerges. Like many hostas, this cultivar may be susceptible to slug damage and deer browsing.
