Overview

Registered in 2010 as an open-pollinated seedling of a streaked *Hosta* 'Let's Streak', *Hosta* 'Stormcloud' forms a dense, mound-like clump of blue-green foliage. Its distinctive appearance derives from broadly ovate, lightly corrugated leaves with dark green, flat margins and a dull upper surface, while the underside bears a glaucous bloom.

In the Garden

This medium-sized cultivar reaches approximately 22 inches (55.9 cm) in height and 33 inches (83.8 cm) in diameter at maturity, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and its compact, rounded habit makes it suitable for border fronts, woodland gardens, or shaded containers. The blue-green foliage pairs well with ferns, heucheras, or other shade-tolerant perennials.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during dry periods, particularly in the first growing season to establish a deep root system. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges; this cultivar is generally resistant to slug damage but may benefit from standard hosta care practices in typical hosta-growing zones.
