Overview

Registered in 2012, 'Floramora' is a medium-sized variegated hosta bred from a seedling of PDN 04-147 crossed with *Hosta plantaginea*. Its distinguishing features include broad, ovate leaves with medium green, slightly rippled margins and a fast growth habit that forms a dense mound.

In the Garden

'Floramora' reaches 16 inches (40.6 cm) in height and 30 inches (76.2 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for mid-border positions or as a specimen in partial to full shade. Its large, fragrant white flowers with lavender tips and bases appear in September on black scapes 20 to 28 inches (50.8 to 71.1 cm) tall, providing late-season interest. Pair with ferns or shade-tolerant perennials that contrast its broad foliage.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry spells and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. This cultivar shows typical hosta susceptibility to slugs and deer, so protective measures may be necessary in vulnerable gardens.
