Registered in 2000, *Hosta* 'Morning Angel' is a medium-sized variegated cultivar resulting from a cross between *Hosta* 'Invincible' (pod parent) and *Hosta* 'Izumi' (pollen parent). Its leaves measure 6 inches (15.2 cm) in length and 5 inches (12.7 cm) in width, featuring dark green margins that contrast with a lighter center.

In the Garden

'Morning Angel' performs best in partial to full shade, where its variegated foliage maintains consistent coloration. As a medium-sized hosta, it forms a mature clump suitable for mid-border positions, woodland gardens, or shaded foundation plantings. Pair with fine-textured ferns or shade-tolerant perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella* for textural contrast.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, applying a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new shoots emerge. Like most hostas, this cultivar is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor regularly and apply controls as needed.
