Overview

Registered in 2012, *Hosta* 'Only You' is a small-sized cultivar of unknown pollen parentage, with *Hosta* 'Hearts and Flowers' as its pod parent. It is visually distinguished by its lance-shaped, medium green leaves with narrow, creamy white, slightly rippled margins, a dull surface on both sides, and a notably rapid growth rate.

In the Garden

'Only You' reaches a mature height of 12 inches (30.5 cm) and a spread of 18 inches (45.7 cm), forming a compact, mound-like habit. It is suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones, and its small size makes it an excellent choice for rock gardens, container plantings, or the front of shaded borders. Companion plants may include ferns, heucheras, or small woodland perennials that complement its green-and-white foliage.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. While 'Only You' shows good edge retention, standard slug and deer deterrents are recommended in areas where these pests are prevalent.
