Overview
Registered in 2012, 'Dragonfly' is a small hosta cultivar of unknown pollen parentage, with *H. 'Hearts and Flowers'* as the pod parent. It is visually distinctive for its lance-shaped, dull green leaves edged with a narrow, creamy white margin of approximately 0.25 inches (0.6 cm), and for its compact, mound-like habit.
In the Garden
'Dragonfly' reaches a mature size of 4 inches (10.2 cm) in height and 10 inches (25.4 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It is suitable for the front of a border, rock gardens, or as a small-scale groundcover in partial to full shade. Its small stature and good leaf substance make it an excellent candidate for container cultivation, where it can be paired with other miniature or small perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella*.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. While 'Dragonfly' exhibits good leaf substance, standard slug and deer deterrent measures are advisable in typical hosta-growing zones.
