Overview

Registered in 2002 by Mary Chastain, *Hosta* 'Lakeside Cindy Cee' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its nearly round, blue-green leaves with broad, heavily rippled greenish-white margins. The leaf surface is slightly shiny above with a glaucous bloom beneath, and the upright, moderate growth habit produces a dense mound.

In the Garden

'Lakeside Cindy Cee' reaches 14 inches (35.6 cm) in height and 24 inches (61.0 cm) in diameter, with scapes rising 28 to 33 inches (71.1 to 83.8 cm). It performs best in partial to full shade, as is typical for blue-green hostas, and benefits from protection from intense afternoon sun to preserve leaf color and margin clarity. The moderate growth rate and compact size make it suitable for the middle of a shaded border, in mass plantings, or as a specimen in a container. Companion plants include ferns, *Heuchera*, and other medium hostas with contrasting leaf shapes or colors.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain even soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor and manage as needed.
