Registered in 2011 by an unknown originator, *Hosta* 'Cathy's Clown' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its broadly ovate, medium green leaves with creamy white margins that are notably wider at the leaf midpoint than at the base. The leaf tip curves downward, and the margins are flat, contributing to a moderately wavy leaf surface with a slight shine on the upper side and a dull underside.

This cultivar forms a mound-like clump reaching approximately 16 inches (40.6 cm) in height and 36 inches (91.4 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and is suitable for borders, woodland gardens, or as a specimen in shaded beds. Its medium size and compact habit allow pairing with ferns, heucheras, or other shade-tolerant perennials, though it is not recommended for container culture due to its mature spread.
