Registered in 1998 by P. Ruh, *Hosta* 'Golden Anniversary' is a medium-sized cultivar of unknown parentage. It is distinguished by green leaves with golden yellow margins that are slightly rippled and viridescent, maturing to a paler yellow as the season progresses.

'Golden Anniversary' forms an upright, moderate-growing clump reaching 34 inches (86.4 cm) in diameter and 11 inches (27.9 cm) in height. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and its medium size makes it suitable for mid-border positions or as a specimen in shaded beds. Companion plants include ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials with contrasting foliage textures.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry periods, particularly in the first growing season to establish roots. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like many hostas, it may be susceptible to slug and deer damage in garden settings.
