Overview

Registered in 2003, *Hosta* 'Go-Go Mom' is a small-sized cultivar of unknown pollen parentage, with *Hosta* 'Galaxy' as its pod parent. It is visually distinctive for its blue-green leaves with white margins that exhibit unstable multicolored streaking—including dark green, greenish yellow, yellow, and creamy white—along with a lustrous upper surface and glaucous bloom beneath.

In the Garden

'Go-Go Mom' forms a compact, mound-like clump reaching 12 inches (30.5 cm) in height and 22 inches (55.9 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to dappled shade, typical of most hostas, and is well suited to small gardens, rockeries, or the front of borders. Its small stature makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation, and it pairs well with other shade-tolerant perennials such as ferns or heucheras.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like many hostas, 'Go-Go Mom' may be susceptible to slug and deer damage, so monitoring and protective measures are advisable in areas where these pests are prevalent.
