Overview

Registered in 2003, *Hosta* 'Dreamland' is a small, fast-growing cultivar of unknown pollen parentage, with *H.* 'Pink Panther' as the pod parent. It is visually distinctive for its medium green leaves with creamy white, slightly rippled margins and unstable streaking of medium green within the leaf blade.

In the Garden

'Dreamland' reaches a mature size of approximately 10 inches (25.4 cm) in height and 23 inches (58.4 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and its compact habit pairs well with small ferns, heucheras, or shade-tolerant groundcovers. The fast growth rate allows it to fill in quickly in mass plantings or as an edging specimen.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during dry periods, particularly in the first growing season, and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Dreamland' is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so appropriate deterrents may be necessary in high-pressure areas.
