Overview

A sport of *Hosta* 'Golden Tiara' registered in 2003, 'Glen Tiara' is a small, fast-growing cultivar distinguished by its nearly round, medium green leaves with wide, flat, yellow margins. The leaf surfaces are dull above and very shiny beneath, and the texture is noted as different from that of *Hosta* 'Grand Tiara'.

In the Garden

'Glen Tiara' forms a compact, mound-like clump reaching approximately 4 inches (10.2 cm) in height and 20 inches (50.8 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to dappled shade with consistent moisture, and pairs well with small ferns, heucheras, or other miniature hostas in shaded troughs or woodland settings.

Care Notes

Provide regular water during dry periods; apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage foliage, so monitor and employ controls as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
