Overview

Registered in 2003, *Hosta* 'Lorelei' is a small-sized cultivar of unknown parentage, with *Hosta* 'Breeder's Choice' as its pod parent. It is visually distinctive for its medium green, ovate leaves with pale yellow, slightly rippled margins and a wavy leaf surface.

In the Garden

'Lorelei' forms a compact, mound-like clump reaching 6 inches (15.2 cm) in height and 17 inches (43.2 cm) in diameter. Its small stature and wavy margins make it well-suited for the front of shaded borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. It pairs effectively with other small hostas or fine-textured shade perennials such as ferns and heucheras.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, protect from slugs and deer in typical hosta-growing zones.
