Overview

Registered in 2006 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Blue Mammoth', 'Andrew' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its broadly ovate, twisted leaves with pure white centers and medium blue-green margins. The leaf surface carries a glaucous bloom on both top and bottom, and a notable medium green zone appears where the center and margin overlap.

In the Garden

'Andrew' reaches a mature spread of 32 inches (81.3 cm) and a height of 21 inches (53.3 cm), with an upright, slow-growing habit. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hosta-growing zones, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials. Its compact size and distinct variegation make it suitable for border fronts or container plantings.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, particularly in dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor regularly and take protective measures if needed.
