Overview
Registered in 2009 as an open-pollinated seedling of *Hosta* 'Neat and Tidy', 'Summer Wedding' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its blue-green leaves with flat, golden yellow margins and pure white flowers. The broadly ovate, moderately corrugated leaves are dull on the upper surface with a slight glaucous bloom beneath, and they overlap at the base to form a skirt-like rosette.
In the Garden
This slow-growing hosta reaches a mature spread of approximately 36 inches (91 cm) and a height of 15 inches (38 cm), making it suitable for mid-border positions in partial to full shade. The gold-margined foliage provides contrast when paired with dark-leaved perennials such as ferns or heucheras, and the white scapes (to 30 inches, 76 cm) add vertical interest in June or July. Its compact habit and overlapping leaf arrangement suit woodland gardens or shaded foundation plantings.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during establishment, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor regularly and use barriers or repellents as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
