Registered in 2000 by A. Malloy, Hosta 'Shadow's Web' is a medium-sized cultivar of unknown parentage. Its distinctive feature is a blue-green leaf with a broad gold margin, creating a pronounced contrast between the darker center and lighter edge.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms a mound 12 inches (30.5 cm) tall and 20 inches (50.8 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials. Its medium size makes it suitable for border fronts or as a specimen in shaded beds.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through appropriate barriers or deterrents.
