Registered in 1991 by L. Simpers and P. Ruh, 'Lucy's Breeder' is a medium-sized hosta derived from a hybrid of *Hosta* 'Snow Mound'. It is distinguished by green leaves with gold margins and light yellow-green undulating leaf edges.

'Lucy's Breeder' forms a clump 23 inches (58.4 cm) in diameter and 15 inches (38.1 cm) tall, with leaves 8.25 inches (21.0 cm) long and 5.25 inches (13.3 cm) wide bearing 12 vein pairs. The scape reaches 25 inches (63.5 cm) in height. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials. Its medium size suits border fronts or woodland garden settings.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain even soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs may damage foliage; monitor and control as needed. Deer resistance is moderate.
