Overview

Registered in 2009, *Hosta* 'Living Water' is a sport of *Hosta* 'Praise Him' and is distinguished by its large, broadly ovate leaves with a slightly blue-green center and wide, creamy white margins. The leaf blade measures 9 inches (22.9 cm) in length and 8 inches (20.3 cm) in width, with margins 1 to 1.5 inches (2.5 to 3.8 cm) wide.

In the Garden

'Living Water' is a large hosta suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones. Its substantial foliage makes it an effective specimen or accent plant in woodland gardens, mixed borders, or shade beds, where it pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials. The broad, tapered leaves provide strong textural contrast when planted near finer-textured plants.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most large-leaved hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through cultural or physical controls.
