Overview

'Lakeside Prophecy Fulfilled' (2006) is the white-edged sport of the plain dark green 'Lakeside Prophecy'. It keeps its parent's leaf, broadly ovate, moderately wavy and deeply corrugated, and adds a creamy white margin 0.5 to 1 in (1.3 to 2.5 cm) wide that is slightly rippled and serrated. The registrant's one note is that "margins are always uneven": the white band is not meant to be a neat, even line.

The registered clump is mound-like, 17 in (43.2 cm) high and 30 in (76.2 cm) wide.

How it compares

'Lakeside Prophecy', the parent, has exactly the same registered leaf size, 10 by 8 in, but no variegation and slightly shiny surfaces on both sides. It is registered at 40 in (101.6 cm) across, against 30 in for the sport, and with a fast growth rate against a moderate one.

'Splendid Sarah' (2005) sits in the same show class with a similar clump, 30 in across and 18 in high, and a creamy white margin 0.5 in wide. The differences are in the leaf itself: it is light green rather than dark, dull rather than slightly shiny, wider at 9 in, and the record does not call it corrugated. It gives a softer, lighter contrast where 'Lakeside Prophecy Fulfilled' gives a sharp dark-and-white one.

Flowers and other notes

Pale lavender, slightly streaked flowers on green scapes of 22 to 26 in (55.9 to 66.0 cm) are recorded from mid-July to mid-August in Tennessee; the record has nothing on light or slug tolerance. It also does not say whether the uneven margin ever reverts to the plain parent.
