Overview
Registered in 2006 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Lakeside Prophecy', this large cultivar forms a dense, mound-like clump reaching 17 inches (43.2 cm) in height and 30 inches (76.2 cm) in diameter. Its most distinctive feature is the combination of dark green leaf centers with creamy white margins that are consistently uneven in width, ranging from 0.5 to 1 inch (1.3 to 2.5 cm) across the leaf surface.
In the Garden
This hosta performs best in partial to full shade, where its variegated foliage maintains contrast without scorching. The broadly ovate leaves, measuring 10 inches (25.4 cm) long by 8 inches (20.3 cm) wide, are deeply corrugated with moderately wavy edges and serrated margins, providing substantial textural interest throughout the growing season. Green scapes rise 22 to 26 inches (55.9 to 66.0 cm) above the foliage. Its moderate growth rate and substantial mature size make it suitable as a specimen or in mixed shade borders alongside ferns, astilbes, and other woodland perennials.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most large-leaved hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so appropriate deterrents may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
