Registered in 2009 by K. Walek (AHS), *Hosta* 'Lemon Twist' is a medium-sized cultivar notable for its blue-green leaves with heavily rippled, golden yellow margins. The leaves are ovate with tapered bases, deeply corrugated, and bear a thin glaucous bloom on the undersides.

In the Garden

'Lemon Twist' performs best in partial to full shade, typical for blue-leaved hostas, and reaches a mature spread of 42 inches (107 cm) with a height of 19 inches (48 cm) and a semi-upright habit. Its compact, rounded form suits the middle of a shaded border or a large container. Companion plants include ferns, *Heuchera*, or *Tiarella* in similar moisture-retentive soil.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry periods to maintain even soil moisture; apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage foliage, particularly the tender gold margins, so monitor and control as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
