Overview
Registered in 2002 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Chivalry', 'Knight's Journey' is a small, mound-forming cultivar valued for its strong color contrast between a dark blue-green leaf center and a creamy white margin. The leaves are ovate with rounded bases, slightly rippled along the edges, and bear six to seven pairs of veins; the margin is approximately 0.5 inches (1.3 cm) wide.
In the Garden
'Knight's Journey' reaches a mature diameter of 20 inches (50.8 cm) and a height of 12 inches (30.5 cm), with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, where the blue-green center remains most intense, and is suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or containers given its small stature. Companion plants that appreciate similar conditions include ferns, *Heuchera*, and small woodland perennials.
Care Notes
Water regularly during dry periods, particularly in the first growing season, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through routine monitoring or barriers.
