Overview

Registered in 2002 by P. Ruh, *Hosta* 'Ginbuchi Tachi' is a small-sized cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinctive for its narrow, lance-shaped leaves of medium green with a thin, creamy yellow margin and stable lighter green streaks along the leaf edge.

In the Garden

This hosta forms a compact, mound-like clump reaching approximately 22 inches (55.9 cm) in diameter and 12.5 inches (31.8 cm) in height, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, as typical for the genus, and its small stature makes it well suited for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. Companion plants that share similar light and moisture requirements, such as ferns or heucheras, complement its narrow foliage.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
