Overview

Registered in 1984 by R. Benedict, *Hosta* 'High Style' is a large, self-pollinated seedling of *Hosta* 'Gold Regal'. This cultivar is visually distinguished by its green leaves with light yellow-green margins, a color pattern known as a medio-variegated or "gold edge" form.

In the Garden

'Hosta' is suited to partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and reaches a mature size of 20 inches (50.8 cm) in height and 26 inches (66.0 cm) in diameter. Its large, broad leaves—10 inches (25.4 cm) long and 8 inches (20.3 cm) wide with 10 vein pairs—provide substantial foliage presence. This cultivar pairs well with other shade perennials such as ferns, *Heuchera*, and *Astilbe*.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with many hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor and manage as needed. This cultivar is hardy in typical hosta-growing zones.
