Overview

Registered in 2009 as a sport of *Hosta* 'My Cup of Tea', 'Herbal Tea' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its blue-green leaves with golden yellow margins. The foliage is ovate with a cordate base, moderately cupped and wavy, with a dull upper surface and glaucous bloom beneath.

In the Garden

'Herbal Tea' forms a mound-like clump reaching 18 inches (45.7 cm) in height and 36 inches (91.4 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, as is typical for blue-green hostas, where the leaf color and margin contrast remain most pronounced. The plant's medium size and rounded habit make it suitable for mid-border positions or as a groundcover beneath deciduous trees, paired with ferns or shade-tolerant perennials.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry periods to maintain consistent soil moisture, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges.
