Overview

Registered in 1986 by F. Williams and C. Williams, this medium-sized cultivar is a hybrid of *Hosta* 'Fortunei Gigantea'. It is distinguished by its variegated foliage with light to bright green ruffled margins and a contrasting darker center.

In the Garden

Mature plants reach 16 inches (40.6 cm) in height and 24 inches (61.0 cm) in diameter, forming a rounded clump suited to partial to full shade. The 10-inch (25.4 cm) long by 6-inch (15.2 cm) wide leaves with 8 to 12 vein pairs provide textural contrast when paired with ferns, heucheras, or other shade perennials. Its medium size makes it appropriate for border fronts or woodland garden settings.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, protect from deer and monitor for slug activity, particularly on the ruffled leaf margins.
