Registered in 2000, *Hosta* 'Golden Gloves' is a large, fast-growing cultivar resulting from a cross between *H.* 'Sea Prize' and *H.* 'Maekawa'. It is visually distinctive for its blue-green leaves with wide, golden yellow, slightly rippled margins, and a glaucous bloom on the undersides.

'Golden Gloves' reaches a mature size of approximately 27 inches (68.6 cm) in height and 28 inches (71.1 cm) in diameter, with an upright growth habit. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hosta-growing zones, and its bold leaf contrast makes it suitable for mid-border positions or as a specimen plant. Companion plants include ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials that complement its blue-green and gold coloration.
