What it looks like
'Fire and Ice' reverses the 'Patriot' pattern. The AHS registry describes pure white leaf centers with a dark green margin about 1 in (2.5 cm) wide, slightly shiny on both sides, with a rounded base. Leaves are 6 × 4 in with 7–9 vein pairs. Habit is recorded as upright, flowers as pale lavender. The record was made in Waseca, Minnesota.

The record gives a 6 × 4 in leaf and an upright habit, nothing more. Without a registered clump size, plan spacing from what the plant does in your own garden.
How it compares
- 'Patriot' is the parent and the reverse pattern: dark green center with a 1 in white margin, registered at 12 × 30 in (the HOY booklet lists 22 × 50 in).
- 'Rainbow's End' also has a light center with a green margin, but the center is yellow and turns creamy white in summer. It is registered at 11 × 21 in with a slow growth rate and red scapes.
- 'Minuteman', another 'Francee' sport like 'Patriot', has the same 6 × 4 in leaf but in the conventional layout: dark green center, 0.75 in creamy white margin, registered at 12 × 24 in.
