Registered in 2016, 'Dark Prince' is a medium-sized hosta cultivar of unknown pollen parentage, with *Hosta* 'Summer Breeze' as its pod parent. It is visually distinctive for its nearly round, dark green leaves with flat margins that are slightly shiny above, dull beneath, and moderately corrugated overall; the leaves fold and grasp into a tight, foreboding mound.

'Dark Prince' forms a mound-like clump reaching 24 inches (61.0 cm) in height and 30 inches (76.2 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It is suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones, where its dark, corrugated foliage provides strong textural contrast against finer-leaved perennials such as ferns or heucheras. Its medium size makes it appropriate for border fronts, woodland gardens, or as a specimen in shaded containers.
