Overview

Registered in 2010 by M. Zilis, this medium-sized hosta is a hybrid of *Hosta* 'Tokudama Aureonebulosa'. It is visually distinctive for its heavily corrugated, broadly ovate leaves with golden yellow centers and wide, medium blue-green margins, the upper and lower surfaces bearing a glaucous bloom.

In the Garden

*Hosta* 'Bright Lights' forms a slow-growing, mound-like clump reaching 19 inches (48.3 cm) in height and 52 inches (132.1 cm) in diameter. It performs best in partial to full shade, as is typical for hostas, and its substantial, textured leaves provide strong visual interest in the border or as a specimen. Its medium size suits it for mixed shade gardens or as a groundcover in woodland settings.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
