Overview
Registered in 2009 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Sea Lightning', 'Angie's Dimples' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its irregularly dimpled and wrinkled leaf surface. The ovate leaves, measuring 20 cm long by 13 cm wide, are dark green with slightly rippled margins, a slightly shiny upper surface, and a very shiny underside, bearing 7 to 8 vein pairs and a lightly corrugated texture.
In the Garden
This mound-forming hosta reaches approximately 51 cm in diameter and 51 cm in height, with a fast growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for variegated hostas, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials. Its medium size makes it suitable for border fronts or as a specimen in shaded beds.
Care Notes
Water regularly during dry periods, applying moisture at the base to avoid leaf spotting. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release formulation. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor and manage accordingly.
