Overview

Registered in 2005 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Pandora's Box', 'Alexizz Madison' is a small-sized cultivar distinguished by its blue-green leaves with creamy white margins. The broadly ovate, cupped leaves measure 3.25 inches (8.3 cm) long and 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) wide, with eight vein pairs and a flat, 0.25-inch (0.6 cm) wide margin; the leaf surface is slightly shiny above and below.

In the Garden

'Alexizz Madison' is suited for partial to full shade, typical of blue-leaved hostas, and reaches a mature spread of approximately 6 to 8 inches (15 to 20 cm) in height. Its small size makes it appropriate for rock gardens, troughs, or the front of a shaded border, where it pairs well with other miniature hostas or fine-textured shade perennials such as *Carex* or *Heuchera*. It is also well-suited for container cultivation.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor and manage as needed.
