Overview
Registered in 2012 from unknown parentage, *Hosta* 'Voila' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its blue-green leaves with pale yellow, slightly rippled margins. The ovate, lightly wavy leaves measure 8 inches (20.3 cm) long by 6 inches (15.2 cm) wide, with a dull upper surface and glaucous bloom beneath, and bear ten pairs of veins.
In the Garden
This cultivar forms a mound-like clump reaching 12 inches (30.5 cm) in height and 30 inches (76.2 cm) in diameter, with a fast growth rate. It performs well in light shade, where the yellow margins maintain balanced coloration. Suitable companions include ferns, *Heuchera*, and other shade-tolerant perennials; its medium size makes it appropriate for border fronts or woodland gardens.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during establishment and throughout the growing season, with a balanced fertilizer applied in early spring. As with most hostas, monitor for slug and deer damage in susceptible areas.
