Overview
Registered in 2015, *Hosta* 'Valley's Love Buzz' is a giant hybrid between a seedling of *H. pycnophylla* (Valley's) and *H.* 'Queen of the Seas'. This cultivar is visually distinctive for its large, broadly ovate, blue-green leaves with intensely wavy, serrated margins and a white undersurface, a combination uncommon among blue-leaved hostas.
In the Garden
Reaching 25.6 inches (65.1 cm) in height and 31.5 inches (80.0 cm) in diameter, this mound-forming giant is best suited to partial shade in typical hosta-growing zones. Its bold, heavily textured foliage provides strong contrast when paired with fine-leaved perennials such as ferns or *Tiarella*. The tall green scapes, rising 39 to 47 inches (100–120 cm), bear pale flowers in midsummer.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like many large-leaved hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage; protective measures may be necessary.
