Overview

Registered in 2015, *Hosta* 'Valley's Goldstriker' originated as a streaked sport of *H.* 'Mikawa-no-Yuki' and was open pollinated. This medium-sized cultivar is visually distinctive for its blue-green leaves with golden yellow, heavily rippled margins, a glaucous bloom on the upper surface, and a dull underside; it is notable as a yellow-leaved *H. kikutii* F2 seedling with wavy margins and a white back.

'Valley's Goldstriker' forms a mound-like clump reaching 13.75 inches (34.9 cm) in height and 15.75 inches (40.0 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It is suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones, where its gold-margined foliage provides contrast against darker-leaved companions such as *Heuchera* or ferns. The plant's compact size makes it appropriate for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings.

Care Notes
