Registered in 2004, 'Slightly Royal' is a sport of *Hosta* 'Royal Standard' distinguished by its green leaves with pure white margins. This medium-sized cultivar forms a fast-growing, mound-like clump reaching 24 inches (61.0 cm) in diameter and 18 inches (45.7 cm) in height.

'Slightly Royal' performs best in partial to full shade, typical for variegated hostas, where its white margins remain crisp without scorching. The 9-inch (22.9 cm) ovate leaves have flat, slightly shiny surfaces and 0.25-inch (0.6 cm) wide white margins, creating a bright accent in shaded borders or woodland gardens. Its medium stature suits middle-border placement alongside ferns, astilbes, or other shade-tolerant perennials.
