Overview

Registered in 1986 by W. Zumbar, *Hosta* 'Royal Accolade' is a medium-sized sport of *Hosta* 'Royal Standard'. It is distinguished by its green leaves with gold margins, often exhibiting chartreuse streaking within the green center.

In the Garden

'Royal Accolade' performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hosta-growing zones. As a medium-sized cultivar, it reaches a mature spread of approximately 18 to 24 inches (45–60 cm) in height and width. It pairs well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials, and is suitable for borders, woodland gardens, or shaded containers.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer deterrents are recommended, as both pests may damage the foliage.
