Overview

Registered in 2007 by D. & D. Schulte, *Hosta* 'Regal Twist' is a sport of the widely grown *Hosta* 'Krossa Regal'. It is visually distinctive for its small, mound-like habit and strongly twisted leaves with a creamy white center and medium blue-green, flat margins.

In the Garden

'Regal Twist' forms a compact mound 12 inches (30.5 cm) high and 18 inches (45.7 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. Its small size and clean white leaf centers make it suitable for the front of shaded borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It pairs well with fine-textured ferns or small sedges, and performs best in partial to full shade.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. The glaucous bloom on the leaves may provide some resistance to slugs, though standard slug control measures are advisable in damp conditions.
