Overview
Registered in 1989, 'PeeDee Treasure' is a small hosta cultivar resulting from a cross between *Hosta* 'Gold Drop' (pod parent) and *Hosta ventricosa* (pollen parent). Its leaves are green with bright yellow-green margins, creating a distinct bicolor effect on a compact plant.
In the Garden
Reaching 7 inches (17.8 cm) in height and 15 inches (38.1 cm) in diameter, 'PeeDee Treasure' is suited for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and pairs well with other small perennials such as heucheras or ferns. Its small size makes it an excellent choice for troughs or mixed containers.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, monitor for slug and deer damage, particularly in shaded, moist locations.
