Overview

Registered in 2011 from unknown parentage, *Hosta* 'Ohh! Blue Bounty' is a large, mound-forming cultivar distinguished by its intense blue-green foliage with a heavy glaucous bloom on both leaf surfaces. The broadly ovate, cordate-based leaves are lightly cupped, moderately wavy, and moderately corrugated, with slightly rippled margins and 15 to 16 pairs of veins.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms a substantial mound 42 inches (107 cm) in diameter and 26 inches (66 cm) tall, with a fast growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, where its blue coloration is most pronounced, and is well-suited as a specimen or in mixed shade borders alongside ferns, heucheras, and other hostas. Its large size makes it unsuitable for most containers.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most blue-leaved hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, though its thick, corrugated leaves offer moderate resistance.
