Registered in 2009, *Hosta* 'My Man Mark' is a giant-sized cultivar with a distinctive upright, fountain-like growth habit and variegated foliage. Its parentage includes *Hosta* 'Yellow River' as the pod parent, with an unknown pollen parent, and it is notable for having never been observed in bloom.

In the Garden

This cultivar reaches a mature spread of 67 inches (170.2 cm) and a height of 28 inches (71.1 cm), making it suitable for large borders or as a specimen plant in partial to full shade. Its broadly ovate leaves with cordate bases, medium green slightly rippled margins, and light twisting and folding create a textured, upright mound that pairs well with ferns, astilbes, or other shade-tolerant perennials. Due to its substantial size, it is not recommended for container cultivation.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during establishment and throughout the growing season, with a balanced slow-release fertilizer applied in early spring. As with most hostas, monitor for slug and deer damage, particularly on the large, slightly glossy leaves.
