Overview
Registered in 2015, *Hosta* 'Armani' is a giant, fast-growing cultivar distinguished by its heavily rippled, dark green leaf margins and red petioles. The broadly ovate, variegated leaves feature a cordate base and slightly shiny surfaces on both sides, with nine vein pairs.
In the Garden
Mature plants reach approximately 112 cm (44 in) in diameter and 51 cm (20 in) in height, forming a dense mound. This cultivar performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hosta-growing zones, and its substantial size makes it suitable as a specimen or background plant in woodland gardens. The red scapes, reaching 76–97 cm (30–38 in), add vertical interest when in flower.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage foliage, so monitor regularly and take protective measures as needed.
