Overview

Registered in 2001, *Hosta* 'Limited Edition' is a medium-sized variegated cultivar of unknown pollen parentage, with *H.* 'Placemat' as the pod parent. Its most distinctive features are the exceptionally deep, very dark green leaf margins that contrast with a lighter center, combined with heavily corrugated, puckered foliage and prominent veins.

In the Garden

'Limited Edition' forms a dense, mound-like clump reaching 16 inches (40.6 cm) in height and 18 inches (45.7 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It is noted for sun tolerance, making it suitable for sites that receive more light than typical hostas, though it performs best in partial shade. The substantial, deeply textured leaves pair well with fine-textured perennials such as ferns or astilbes, and the plant's compact size suits the front of borders or small garden spaces.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. The thick, puckered leaves offer good slug and deer resistance, though monitoring is advisable in high-pressure areas.
