Registered in 1986 by R. Benedict as a sport of *Hosta* 'Midwest Gold', 'Larry Englerth' is a large cultivar distinguished by its green leaves with gold margins. The leaf center emerges chartreuse and transitions to yellow before maturing to dark green, while the margins remain gold.

Reaching 18 inches (45.7 cm) in height and 24 inches (61.0 cm) in diameter, 'Larry Englerth' is suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones. Its substantial size makes it effective as a specimen or in mixed borders, where it pairs well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials. The gold margins provide contrast against darker foliage plants.

Care Notes
