Hosta ‘Lakeside Down Sized’ is a registered cultivar () .

Year registered2003
Section classV-4a

Overview

Registered in 2003, this miniature hosta was developed by an unknown breeder using *Hosta* 'Lakeside Knickknack' as the pod parent and an unidentified pollen parent. It is visually distinctive for its small, lance-shaped leaves that display yellow centers with narrow white margins, the margins being slightly rippled and the leaf surface somewhat shiny above and dull beneath.

In the Garden

Reaching a mature size of approximately 10 inches (25.4 cm) in diameter and 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) in height, this cultivar forms a compact, mound-like clump with a fast growth rate. It is well suited for the front of shaded borders, rock gardens, or as an edging plant, and its miniature stature makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation. Companion plants might include other small-scale shade perennials such as dwarf ferns or miniature *Heuchera*.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, applying a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so appropriate protective measures may be necessary in typical hosta-growing zones.
