Overview

Registered in 1995 by M. Zilis and W. Zumbar, *Hosta* 'Shere Khan' is a miniature sport of *Hosta* 'Just So'. It is visually distinctive for its small, dull green leaves with pure white, slightly rippled margins, reaching only 5 inches (12.7 cm) in height and 7 inches (17.8 cm) in diameter.

In the Garden

This miniature hosta is best suited for shaded or partially shaded locations, where its compact size and moderate growth rate make it an excellent choice for rock gardens, troughs, or the front of a border. Its small leaves, measuring 2 inches (5.1 cm) long and 1.1 inches (2.8 cm) wide, pair well with other diminutive woodland plants such as small ferns or *Heuchera*. The plant's semi-upright habit and 5.5 to 7 inch (14.0 to 17.8 cm) scapes of light green flowers also make it suitable for container cultivation.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with many hostas, slug and deer damage may occur, though the small, dull leaf surface may be less attractive to some pests.
